Testimonials

Imagine that you are the guest of honour at a hundredth birthday party.

Lucky You.

During the party, people will give testimonials to you and your life.

Write down what you would like to hear.

This is a really effective way to make a shopping list for how you really want to live your life.

Few people ever try this exercise and write, 'he had a huge house, drove some cool cars, had a massive home cinema set-up and was a hard as nails boss.'

More common are responses like, 'He loved his partner and s/he loved him, he was a fantastic dad, he was a laugh, he was a dependable friend, he lived life like I wished I'd lived mine.'

Write your testimonials, and then see how likely your current life targets are to help you get there.

These testimonials are a way to help you look back at the life you haven't yet lived - and then change the view.

Star in your own Back to the Future IV. I took my own advice on this and then resolved to have more family holidays before our eldest child was too old to join us.
