Much as we like it, it won't make us happy.

You know it's a pleasure when you get a new stereo, but you also know you have that nagging feeling that you should have gone for the next model up and the sound would have been so much better.

Estate agents will tell you almost no-one gets the house they really want, because that's the one that's just out of their range, and leaving the shop with that perfect pair of shoes, you're aware how many you left behind.

Stuff is nice, you can have some fun with it. It can even give you blast of happiness, but generally only if you were happy already. If you weren't, a new CD is probably not going to fix it for you.
