Exercise

I know, this might sound a bit enthusiastic if all you want is a gentle glow of happiness without the sweat, but a brisk walk can help too, and there could be a pub or a cinema at the other end of the walk.

Exercise does work.

Whether it is the release of happy brain chemicals, or just the satisfaction of getting off your arse and doing something, exercise increases the sense of well being, which is psychologist for 'makes you happy.'

Reversing the gentle slide from 'virile young thing' to 'decrepit barrel of lard' doesn't hurt either.
